Long Bay Beach Resort, Tortola.
For a very long time, Tortola hasn’t been known to be a “modern” resort destination like its counterparts Virgin Gorda, Peter Island, Scrub Island and Anegada. That all changed recently when the Long Bay Resort decided to renovate the property. The Long Bay Resort is tucked away on a scenic beach surrounded by rolling hillsides located on the western end of the island of Tortola.

The Property.
The property is nestled on a “mile long stretch of white sand”. The area is basically a hidden oasis on the busiest island in the territory. As I arrived on the property, I received a warm and inviting welcome from Mr. Smit (the manager) and Akil. We promptly went on a brief tour around the estate so that I was able to observe the amenities offered to guests. There is a restaurant, beach bar/club and coffee shop on site.

The Room.
After the tour of the property, we headed to my room! I had the pleasure of staying on the ground floor beach front suite. The soothing sound of the waves of Long Bay, accompanied by the salty, breezy Caribbean air, set the mood for my stay. The design of the suite reminded me of a cover story you would find in the Coastal Living Magazine. Beach House Chic is the perfect description of the aesthetics of this hotel suite. Words can not do the suite any justice so here are some photos to fill in the mental snapshot gaps.

Everyone loves a bathroom that transports you to an evening at a World Class spa. Expect top notch bathroom fixtures and features to help you relax on your trip.

Exclusive Beach Front Oasis
If you’re lucky enough to book a ground floor suite, you’re in for a real treat. The Open Plan of the suite expands out onto the front deck that hosts a seating area where you can enjoy your morning tea/coffee/breakfast. You also get a beach front cabana for a front row seat to some of the most beautiful sunsets the BVI has to offer.

Outdoor Living Space. Open Plan Suite.

Dining.
If you know me, you know I love simple dishes with incredible execution and that is what the 1738 restaurant is all about. The restaurant has different seating locations for different moods and/or time of meals.
