Unique Places I Have Stayed In And My Unique Approach to Travel.
As I have delved deeper and deeper into the World of traveling, I’ve taken on a simpler approach as opposed to the recent “Race to See the World” concept that everyone has subscribed to. I have always known that I don’t aspire to backpack through 5 countries or race on and off a cruise ship, cramming 1 week of vacationing into 4 hours of cookie-cutter tours. Instead of trying to squeeze in 30 countries by 30 or scramble to see all continents by 40, I have leaned into “vacationing” and “relaxing” in “hand-picked” unique places whether its for a staycation or vacation abroad.
With that being said, over the past few years, I have made it my mission to relax and vacation in some of the most beautiful and unique places and without further ado, here’s a short list of them.

Unique Places I’ve Stayed.
5 Star Resort Heaven, Encanto Acapulco, Mexico.
The city of Acapulco is quite unpopular for vacation when it comes to foreigners outside of the country of Mexico. This hidden gem, only spoken about in hushed reverend tones is filled with beautiful and unique places to relax in. Since the year of 2018, I placed Encanto Acapulco on my bucket list and I finally had the opportunity to stay at this magical location for my birthday this year. Encanto Acapulco is by far, one of the most unique places I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the uniquely designed hotel to the extremely unique location to the unique attentive service displayed by the staff. I highly recommend spending at least 4 relaxing days in this beautiful city to be able to experience it in its entirety. Read more about my stay at this beautiful resort here.
Yachting around the British Virgin Islands with Voyage Yacht Charters.
One of the most unique stays I have ever experienced is yachting across the British Virgin Islands for 3 days. I’ve stayed in a myriad of hotels and villas across the BVI but nothing compares to waking up in a new location every morning, and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean in a new Bay or Beach every night. In addition to being able to relax in a new location everyday, just imagine having a a gourmet chef and experienced captain taking care of everything. Watch my YouTube video about this vacation here.
Glamping on a beach with Anegada Beach Hotel.
So, I have tried camping before but not like this. The Anegada Beach Club offers a Glamping experience that brings a luxurious twist to the regular camping we are used to. Instead of fighting your tent as you set it up, your palapa, which is located right on the beach, is already set up for you. These palapas are outfitted with everything you need and want for a relaxing Glamping experience. Read more about my experience glamping here! Cultural Immersion through Tulum, Mexico.
“From the artwork, to the design elements to the philosophy, this place was inspired by the Mayan culture, its people and nature. As said before, Mayan culture and nature had a huge hand in the inspiration and building of these bungalows. Local wood accents add to the charm of the bungalows. Minimalist concrete counters and furniture are scattered throughout the bungalow, adding a much needed modern look. Palapa grass roofs made by local Mayans rest on top of high ceilings and large windows, allowing you to feel apart of nature and Maya. Lush greenery caresses the Off-white walls bringing the Mayan charm and coziness together, allowing you to feel like you stepped into your own home.” This is an excerpt straight from my blog about this lovely villa in the Mayan jungles of Tulum. The cultural immersion didn’t stop there. I spent days walking through the Pueblo of Tulum, grocery shopping at local stores, buying fish from the local pescaderia and hiring a private tour guide to tour and learn more about the Mayan culture.
Jungle Living in Los Pargos, Costa Rica
I have stayed in the Jungle in Tulum but my neighbors were as close as a stone’s throw away. In Costa Rica, that experience was vastly different. We stayed in the middle of a jungle in Los Pargos where the closest neighbor was about a 6 minute drive away. Every morning as the sun rose, we were awaken by a family of mantled howler monkeys, howling at the top of their lungs. Various wildlife traipsed around the yard of our villa making every day quite unique. If you’d like to hear these beautiful monkeys and learn more about my stay in the jungle, read up here or watch my vlog.
Private Island bliss on Necker Island
Necker Island’s uniqueness is just off of the fact that it is a Private Island. In addition to its exclusivity, this private island is home to over 140 species of animals including extremely endangered Madagascan Lemurs to giant tortoises, rock lizards, flamingos, and many more. Most of these animals roam freely on the island and interact with guests. Sitting atop the highest point of Necker Island stands this incredibly spacious balinese styled villa where everything you could possibly want is at your fingertips. I documented my stay on this beautiful island right here and here if you would love to learn more about it.
That is my round up of my favorite unique stays. I hope you enjoyed this “filler episode” and stay tuned for more travel content!
