What to do in Puerto Rico? 48 Hour Itinerary for San Juan, Puerto Rico.
It’s been years since I’ve been back to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Its perfect “central” location in the Caribbean makes it easily accessible for Caribbean natives and mainland Americans to hop on over for a quick trip. And don’t forget, U.S. Citizens and residents don’t even need their passport to enjoy a vacation on this beautiful island. With such diversity in sights, scenery and culture it is nearly impossible to experience everything Puerto Rico has to offer. With that being said, here’s what you can squeeze into 48 hours.
Where to stay in Puerto Rico?
If you’re going to be spending 48 hours in Puerto Rico, I recommend you focus on the area of San Juan. Choose either to stay in Old San Juan or the Condado area if you’d like to maximize your time there. I stayed at the Condado Ocean Club Hotel. It’s perfectly located in the middle of everything San Juan has to offer. Stay tuned for an in depth review of this hotel!
Where to eat in Puerto Rico?
When it comes to food in Puerto Rico, the choices are endless. I highly recommend booking a food tour that takes you to various eateries and bars throughout Old San Juan. This will allow you to use your time more efficiently by doubling up on seeing Old San Juan and eating delicious foods and indulging in tasty cocktails along the way. Some of my favorite spots includes La Verguenza, Social at Condado Ocean Club, La Casita de Rones and Barrachina!
What to do in Puerto Rico?
You have to use your 48 hours wisely. The moment you land in Puerto Rico, take a shower, get dressed and hit the road immediately. If you’ve chosen to stay at Condado Ocean Club, head down the road to La Verguenza to start off your evening. After that, you can head to La Placita for salsa dancing until 2 am.
In the morning, head down to Social at Condado Ocean Club for some delicious breakfast before heading out to Old San Juan at 12:00 p.m. You can opt for an Old San Juan food tour, or opt out and get lost amongst the multi-colored buildings like I did.
On your last day in Puerto Rico, spend your morning at one of the many beautiful beaches or charter a boat with “Puerto Rico Boat Charters” and head over to Cayo Icacos for a few hours.
That’s all I have for my Puerto Rico Itinerary. Stay tuned for my in depth blog about my stay at Condado Ocean Club and watch my vlog about my Puerto Rico trip below! Also catch up on my older blogs here!
