What I Wore on Vacation: Tropical / Summer Edition.

It’s that time of year when you’re planning your summer vacation to your favorite tropical destination. As you’re purchasing your plane tickets, your mind is flooded with images of you lounging on white sandy beaches with a piña colada in hand.  Next on the to do list is to figure out what you’re going to wear!  No need to worry because this island girl has got your back! Beating the tropical heat and maximizing on breeze intake results in lighter and fewer clothes you’ll need to stuff into your suitcase. Follow along as I present to you my “What to Wear” Guide on a summer vacation.

Flowly Dresses Will Be Your Bestfriend.

When it comes to your daily adventures, short or long flowy dresses will aid in keeping your body temperature down. However, you don’t need to sacrifice fashion for functionality. When you’re going on a tropical vacation, you can bet that sight-seeing will definitely be apart of your itinerary. Since you’ll probably be in the hot sun all day, keeping cool will be your main priority. Short shorts and bodysuits will be the perfect fit for a day full of beach and restaurant hopping. When you’re going on vacation, especially to the tropics, minimal jewelry is your best option. Make sure that you bring pieces that are versatile for both adventurous mornings and fancy evenings.

All you’re going to need on your tropical vacation is one pair of flip flops, one pair of sandals and maybe one pair of heels for an evening out! If you’d like to hit up the gym or a hike on vacation, wear your sneakers while traveling so you don’t have to stuff them into your suitcase! Also, try to choose neutral colors so that your shoes can match with anything. For bags, try to carry one small handbag and a huge tote that can be folded into a burrito to fit into your suitcase like a Longchamp Le Pliage Tote.  Don’t forget to bring a straw hat to shade you from the Summer sun.
